One Fine Summers Day

This is a picture of the necklace, not my boobs! I promise!

So I have officially finished my first year of Uni and I have been back home for 5 days now. It's strange being home after living somewhere else for 8 months. I now have to eat at different times to usual, I have to leave the house to see my friends, my boyfriend is an hour and a half away and I have significantly less freedom. I am in the process of finding myself a job for the summer, otherwise I'm going to get incredibly bored these next 3 months!

Here in England, we had a period of a few days of sunny weather, yay! However, it has swiftly been replaced with cold, rainy weather *sigh*. I'm just hoping for the sun to return on Sunday for the London Colour Run in which I am participating - you may have seen my Instagram picture, I am rather excited for it! My family and boyfriend are coming to watch so no doubt there will be pictures to upload.

A couple of days ago, myself and a friend from home went shopping (and spent waaaay too much money, a job is definitely required!). We did go into Lush but I managed to prevent myself from reaching for my purse, otherwise there would have been significant damage to my bank account! The shops I purchased from were:

♥ New Look
♥ Boots
♥ Claire's Accessories
♥ Topshop
♥ River Island

When I got back home, it was sunny and two of my Aunties were coming over for tea and cake so I put on my new dress, jewellery and shoes (shown in the pictures above). I kept my makeup simple, just foundation, powder and mascara and tied my hair back into a messy bun. The dress and shoes are from New Look and the jewellery is from Topshop. The dress was in the sale and I picked it up because it just looked so pretty and the material is lovely and soft. It is a deep pink colour with a white, lacy collar. It is fairly tightly fitted at the top, comes in at the waist and is more loose from the hips.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little life update, I appreciate it's probably not that interesting to hear about my life, I shall review more products and things when I have something worth reviewing!

Until next time, live, laugh and love and enjoy all the little things in life

Face and Outfit of the Night / Sports Ball

Some close ups of my face, and me with some of my tennis girlies

I don't know about you, but I absolutely love getting all dressed up, doing something special with my hair and going out with my friends. On Monday, it was my university's Sports Ball; a black tie event where the sporting achievements from this year are recognised and celebrated. We got all glammed up and took a coach to the Coventry Ricoh Arena. With champagne on arrival, we knew that the evening would be posh. We had a chance to take photos with each other, find our way to the bar, and generally be sociable, before we were ushered to our tables. Once we were all sat down, the Sports Coordinators were introduced and the itinerary for the evening was announced. Our starter was a cream of vegetable soup with bread rolls (lovely if you actually like soup), followed by a main of breaded chicken with mozzarella, a variety of veggies and a lovely tomatoey sauce. The first lot of awards and thank yous were then announced. Dessert was brought out *hurrah* and it was a warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, which was absolutely delicious! Once we had all finished, the final lot of awards were given out and we were all feeling nostalgic as we realised that this year has come to an end; which for some means the end of uni altogether! A dj then came out and we danced, socialised and photographed until the coaches arrived to take us home.

It was a very lovely evening and it was nice to be able to catch up with my tennis friends as we've been busy with exams recently. I've made some great friends this year and the ones who are leaving, I will never forget them as they've made such an impact on my life.

The makeup that I wore on that evening was:

♥ Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
♥ Maybelline Fit Me Concealer "20"
♥ Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation "200, Soft Beige"
♥ Seventeen Pressed Powder "Delicate Beige"
♥ Sleek Face Contour Kit "Medium"
♥ Helen E Cosmetics Shimmer Eye Powder "13"
♥ MICAbella Cosmetics Shimmer Powder "53, Deep Secrets"
♥ MaxFactor Kohl Pencil "Black"
♥ Maybelline the Rocket Volum' Express Mascara "Black"
♥ Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara "Black"
♥ Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Matte "2, Pink Pout"

My dress, clutch bag and shoes are from New Look, I can't remember where I got my earrings from, I think they might have been a present from someone. I did my hair by twisting it and taking bits in over the front, then brought it over to the other side and plaited it. Let me know if you want me to do a blog post on how to do this hairstyle and I will attempt to! I hope your week is going well.

Face of the Night / End of first year!

A few pictures of my face and me with my flatmates Becca and Lizzie

I had my last exam on Thursday, which signalled the end of my first year at university! I cant believe how fast it's gone, I've met some amazing people, had many fantastic and hilarious moments, and enjoyed my course. Going to university to study Geography and Natural Hazards was the best decision I could have made. So because of this, me and a load of friends went out last night to celebrate. We partied hard (perhaps a little too hard - paid the price for it today!) and generally had a great time. This is the makeup I wore:

♥ Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
♥ Maybelline Fit Me Concealer "20"
♥ Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation "200, Soft Beige"
♥ Seventeen Pressed Powder "Delicate Beige"
♥ Sleek Face Contour Kit "Medium"
♥ Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner "Black"
♥ Maybelline the Rocket Volum' Express Mascara "Black"
♥ Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm "Mischievous"

I simply pinned my hair back with a couple of hair grips and hairsprayed the hell out of it. I wore my new crop top (featured on a blog post here), a black bodycon skirt, and my Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume.

I have recently noticed that I have been graced with the presence of a few spots, I'm putting it down to the stress of exams, so I am going to pay a lot of attention to my skin and being kind to it. In other news, my sister just passed her driving test! I am very proud, although it does mean that I now have to share my car *sigh*. Anyways, I hope you are all well and are having a great weekend.

Until next time, live, laugh and love and enjoy all the little things in life

Boots splurge

My products! Excuse my crappy cracked lips, they are in need for some TLC!

Every now and then, I feel the need to update my makeup and skincare products. Whether it's because I've run out or because I fancy a change, this time, it was the latter. So I went on to the Boots website, promising myself that I wouldn't spend to much - I need my money for food! - and that is when I noticed my Boots points total . I rarely spend my boots points so they had racked up to a nice £57.80 worth. Upon this realisation, I ignored my previously decided spend limit and shopped away! As they have only just arrived, I haven't had much of a chance to try them all out, however, let me know if you want me to review any of them and I shall. This is what I purchased:

♥ Botanics All Bright Eye Make Up Remover (£2.99)
♥ Ponds Hydro-Nourishing Cream (£4.49)
♥ Nivea Visage oil free moisturiser (£2.49)
♥ Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Face Mask (£10.00)
♥ Sleek Face Contour Kit "Medium" (£6.49)
♥ Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick "Pink Pout" (£7.49)
♥ Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm "Mischievious" (£7.99)
♥ Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm "Unapologetic" (£7.99)

I am looking forward to trying these products out and letting you know what I think of them! Also, there are a lot of deals and offers at Boots at the moment so it may be worth a peek.

I have just booked a holiday to Crete with my boyfriend so I am super excited for that! Which also means, no doubt I will  be doing more shopping soon, yay! It also means that there will be an abundance of sunny pictures coming soon!

Until next time, live, laugh and love and enjoy all the little things in life

Summer is coming, therefore one must shop!

I love summer! It is my favourite season; you get to go on holiday, school/college/uni has finished, everywhere is so bright and pretty, and everyone seems to be in that much of a better mood. So you can imagine my delight with the beautiful weather we have been having recently over here in England (minus the more recent damp days).  I also love clothes so when I got money and a gift voucher for New Look for my birthday a few weeks ago, I simply couldn't wait to get spending! I was going to take pictures of me wearing these clothes, however, I have just woken up and look horrendous, also I wasn't going to do a bikini shot (oo-er) as I would feel a little bit exposed. Being a student with no job means that I have to be sensible with my money *sigh* and can't just splash out on clothes, makeup etc. So every now and then I like to treat myself :) I have also recently bought some new makeup and skincare products, so fear not, I shall be posting them up soon too!

All the clothes featured are from New Look, here are their proper names just in case any of them take your fancy and you also want to purchase them:

♥Cream Wild Souls T-shirt (£7.99)
♥Blue Polka Dot Triangle Bikini Top (£7.99)
♥Blue Polka Dot Bikini Bottoms (£4.99)
♥Shell Pink Voile Maxi Skirt (£14.99)
Shell Pink Tropical Print Double Layer (£17.99)
♥Grey Long Sleeve Zebra Print Top (£9.00)

Any one else ridiculously super excited for summer?

Until next time, live, laugh and love and enjoy all the little things in life

My *updated* Everyday Makeup

Some posey shots. If you hadn't noticed, my eyes are rather large!

Since starting Uni in September, I have become so very lazy with my makeup. Often I don't even bother at all, which is a massive difference to this time last year when I would rarely venture out of the house with my "face-on". In fact, the only things that change day-to-day are my eye shadow colour, and whether I'm wearing eye liner or not - that usually depends on how much time I have to get ready! So because of this, I felt it was time to update my everyday makeup on here. In the autumn/winter I generally go for darker makeup but tone it down in the springtime. My previous "everyday makeup" post was back in 2012 (which you can read here) and although some products have stayed the same, there are a few new additions. So without further ado, here is my everyday makeup:

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
I have tried a few primers before but never got on with them. Some made my face all slimy, while others made my foundation go all peely. After having given up on primers all together, my friend finally convinced me to try this one. And thank goodness she did! I put a pea-sized squirt on my finger and rub it all over my face. It is light so my face doesn't feel oily, and my foundation glides on smoothly over it. And not only that, it makes my foundation go further so I don't need to use as much each time, and my foundation seems to stay on for longer. So an all round thumbs up!

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, 200 soft beige
Since discovering this line of foundation last year, I have hardly looked back. Swapping to the 201 shade in the summer (once I've caught the sun), this has been a staple product for me. It blends in nicely and is lightweight so my face doesn't feel overloaded with makeup. My skin looks fresher and just generally better with this on. I am also rather attracted to the bottle too as it is glass and looks quite professional.

Maybelline Fit Me concealer, 20
This is one of the products that hasn't changed since my previous everyday makeup post. I guess that's because it still works for me! It gets rid of any dark circles under my eyes and any spots that decide to show up. Although if pushed for time, I can go without it as my foundation does such a good job.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr, 65 Pink Gold
This is such a pretty, shimmery colour that is perfect for spring. It brightens my face, and although it is so quick and easy to apply, it stays on for such a long time. I don't really have much to say about this product as it is simple yet makes a noticeable difference.

MaxFactor Kohl Pencil, 20 black
This is another product that has stayed the same. I have played around with gel liners a bit more than before and tend to use them for nights out, however, my trusty pencil is just perfect for applying a simple and quick line. Pencils are so good for blending and smudging so I guess for all-round, this one wins!

Seventeen Pressed Powder, delicate beige
Yet again, this product is a long-running favourite of mine. It goes on easily and with my primer, stays on longer than before. I am considering trying a different powder once this one has run out as I fancy trying something new, not because I don't love this one, but I fancy a change. So if you have any suggestions, let me know in the comments section!

Sleek MakeUp Blush, Suede 921
I hadn't been using this too much up until recently as it was too dark for my winter skin, however, it has warmed up, I've added some colour to my skin, and I feel like I can get this out again. I use it for contouring, so to make my cheek bones stick out more and it really works well with my skin tone. And to go from day makeup to night makeup, I simply add a bit more! Simple!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush, 50 live pink
This is another product that I tend to use spring/summer time as it makes my cheeks look all rosy :) It is a pretty little colour to add a little colour to my cheeks. It is well used but has lasted me quite a long time so I don't think I'll need to buy another one soon (although it looks like I'm about to run out) so I have definitely got value for money here.

Maybelline the Rocket volum' express mascara, black
Over the summer, I bought about 10 different mascaras of varying prices so I could try them all out and decide which was the best. This is the one I have ended up with. It instantly adds volume to my eyelashes, which is difficult as my lashes are stubborn! It isn't clumpy and lasts all day (and sometimes all night too). Definitely the best mascara I have tried.

Rimmel lash Accelerator Endless mascara, 1 black
This is another of my summer mascara purchases and I use it on my lower lashes. I found it didn't really work on my upper lashes as the brush is too small, it made little to no difference and felt like I had to cake it on for it to make even the slightest difference. However, I decided that because it was so small, it just might work on my lower lashes. And lo and behold, that is what I use it for! Because the brush is nice and small, it is more precise and there is less risk of it smudging onto my skin.

Ted Baker lipgloss
I got this as a present so I don't actually know what shade it is sorry! I love this colour as it is pretty and compliments the blusher I use. It goes on easily and doesn't leave my lips all sticky and horrible - a common problem with lipglosses. It is the perfect colour for the spring/summer time :)

I hope you enjoyed this little update. I always love having a sneeky peek at what products my friends use so I can get inspiration so I thought you'd like to see mine too.

Until next time, live, laugh and love and enjoy all the little things in life
