That dreaded thing called exercise!

Hey guys!
So recently, out of the blue, a sudden rush of motivation has overcome me. Don't ask me where it has come from because I am just as clueless as you, but I have become very dedicated to exercise. I've never been like this before, sure would play tennis once a week, but that's about it. Now, however, I am exercising pretty much every day, and I feel bad and guilty when I don't.

Nike Dart 9 trainers. My picture of my legs/feet from Instagram.

It kinda started with running. Call me strange, but I love running, and it's sort of like therapy for me. Getting 30-45 minutes of fresh air, clearing my head and listening to good music really makes me happy. And sure I struggle sometimes, occasionally I push myself too hard, but that doesn't stop me. As I said at the start, I am motivated. Dedicated even.

But it didn't stop there! For about two or three weeks, I had made a routine and stuck to it (to which I was very pleased!). I was running twice a week, going to the gym twice a week, and playing tennis twice a week. Unfortunately, the weather stepped in and prevented me from running on a few occasions so I ended up going to the gym more regularly. And this is when the mega-motivation kicked in for me. Going to the gym began to feel like a drug to me. I got the satisfaction of working hard and doing a good workout (and yes, eyeing up the muscly men).

Part of my new exercise regime, is doing a few '30 day challenges'. I started off just doing the squat challenge, but then I discovered the ab challenge, and once my weights arrived (more on this later), I began the arm challenge too.

All three images from Google.

So as I have been exercising more, there's one problem I encountered; I didn't have enough workout gear and was having to wash my clothes pretty much every night, which was fine but a bit annoying if I forgot (which I may have done on a few occasions! Ooops!). What did I do? Well I did what any girl would do; I bought more clothes!! I needed a tennis skirt anyway, but I also included two tank tops and a pair of shorts in my order. Non-clothes related, I bought a water bottle and some 3kg weights. Now to explain the weights. Toned arms are on my workout wish-list so to aid that, I thought weights would be a good idea. Also, I'm very weak so I thought I would start off small and work up!

I am now following many different fitness related Instagram and Twitter pages (which I will link at the bottom of this post) to keep my motivation flowing, and to give me a goal. I know I'm not fat and I know I don't need to lose weight but I have an image in my head of what I want my body to look like, and I'm willing to work for it! I'm not obsessed, I'm dedicated!

On a serious note though, I would like to point out the obvious - don't overwork yourself. Admittedly, I have been pushing myself quite hard, but I am aware of this and I am trying to give my body a rest sometimes. And I'm not saying this is for everyone or that you have to! But if you want to change your body, do it for YOU. Don't do it for anyone else because you're the one who will feel the effects. It's not about being skinny, it's about being healthy.

So that is everything guys! Sorry this post has been a bit waffly but I didn't really plan it, I just went with the flow and this is where we've ended up! Here are the Twitter and Instagram links:

Are you just as motivated as me? Or are you struggling with motivation? Have you tried any of the 30 day challenges? How did they go?

GlossyBox | May 2013

Eeeek! So I have realised that it is already June and I haven't reviewed my May GlossyBox yet!!! Sorry it's a bit late, but better late than never I guess...

So, as you may or may not be aware, GlossyBox turned 2 this May so happy birthday GlossyBox!! I have been subscribed since January and can totally see how they are so popular! So, onto the review! I was generally pleased with this box as it looks so pretty and the products inside are of high quality.

Caudalie Divine Oil - I was intrigued when I saw this product in my box as I never use oil on my skin or hair. As I have oily skin, I tend to stay away from oils as I worry that it will make my skin (and face in particular) even shinier than usual. When I had a bath, I poured a bit of this in and hoped for the best. The thing was, I didn't actually notice a difference. Perhaps it works best when you use it on it's own? Maybe I have been using it wrong? I'm not sure, but I am glad it didn't make my face all shiny and my hair greasy. It smells nice though, that is one massive positive for me. I could literally sit here and just smell the product for ages!! (Not that I'm going to, that would be weird!). For the full size, it is £4,05 for 15ml. I don't think that I would purchase this because it hasn't impressed me enough. Again, it might be because I am using it wrong? Let me know if you have used it, and if you liked it, let me know how you use it!!

L'Occitane en Provence Angelica Hydration Cream - So, I'd like to think of myself of a bit of an expert on moisturisers. Not because I have studied them, but because I have gone through so many and tried all sorts of brands and types. This product is very hydrating for the skin, and I have been using it every morning and evening. It smells really fresh and summery, and it goes on really well. The only problem I have encountered, is that it takes ages to sink in and leaves my skin feeling greasy and slimy. I was slightly disappointed because I had quite high hopes for this product. The full size is 50ml and that  is £30. I will keep using this product as it does hydrate my skin well, however, I will not be purchasing the full size one.

Beautiful Movements Prime & Create Mixing Medium - I have only ever tried using a primer once before and I didn't get along with it. Therefore, my expectations of this product were pretty low. I used it, and I am happy to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome! It went on smoothly and mixed in with my foundation well to create a flawless finish. You don't have to use much so it will last a long time, and it helps my powder stay on so I don't end up all shiny! The only bad thing I can think of is the size of the tester. The full size is £20 for 20g. If it was cheaper, I would definitely purchase it as I am impressed by it!

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara - I love my mascara! I think it is one product I could definitely not live without! In the description, it says that it is non-clumping but lengthening, volumising and waterproof. I hate to be a buzz-kill but I disagree with half of that. Sure, it lengthened and volumised my lashes, but it also clumped and is definitely not waterproof. I wanted to put it to the test as so many "waterproof" mascaras leave me with panda eyes. I applied it in the morning, did an hour and a half of exercise, then had a shower. When I got out of my shower, the mascara had clumped and flaked and peeled off in such a way that could only be likened to the glue for fake lashes. In a positive note, this product is durable and does lengthen my lashes. The full size is £15 and, sadly, I will not be purchasing it.

Headline Colours nail polish (twisted silk) - I think it is safe to say, I have a LOT of nail polishes, however, I am always happy to get new colours and try different brands. I think this is the product that I was most pleased with in the box, because it is such a pretty colour and it lasted so well. I rarely bother painting my nails because they always get chipped at work and that irritates me, however, I this product survived many days at work, even without a top coat! It was easy to apply (which is essential because I'm not exactly the best or most accurate at applying nail polish!) and only required one coat due to it's ultra-high pigmentation. The full size is 10ml and is £9, and I will definitely consider having a look for other colours from this brand to purchase!

So, overall, I was pretty happy with this month's box. Yes there were some disappointing features, however, there were also so pleasing ones. You win some, you lose some I guess. I cannot wait to receive my next box and see what GlossyBox have in store for me! I definitely think you should check GlossyBox out, if you haven't already, CHECK IT OUT!!

Have you tried any of these products? What's your opinion on them?
