Feeling Christmassy!

So as Christmas is nearly here (eek!) and we have decorated our house in a festive fashion! Here are some pictures :)

This is my gingerbread train that I made today! I filmed myself doing it and made a video :)
Here is the archway in our hall. We decorated it with mistletoe, baubles and tinsel :)
Some mistletoe hanging on our mirror in our hallway :)
Our fireplace is decorated with baubles, tinsel and christmas cards :)
This is the holly wreath hanging on our front door, I added some red tinsel to it :)
Here are three scented candles in my room. They are from Primark and have the 'Vanilla Bean' scent :)
My Christmas tree is from Paperchase, 30cm tall and white. I decorated it with my fairy lights. The candles in front are both from Primark with the scents 'Boughs of Holly' and 'Vanilla Bean' :)
This is our fabric advent calender where we put up a different character/feature every day. We like to mix things up a little when putting them up :)
Our Christmas tree! We bought and decorated it on Saturday :)
These are the fairy lights in my room, in the dark. I got them as a Christmas present two years ago :)
Here are my Christmas lights from WHSmiths which I bought last year. It was difficult to get a good picture of them because they flash :)

Have you been getting into the Christmas spirit too? It's so close to Christmas!!

Frosty morning!

The frost was pretty this morning so I took a few pictures! Some pictures were taken in the car and, as I was driving, my sister took them for me (don't want me to crash now do we!). It made me feel more Christmassy even though it isn't snow! :) Enjoy!

Who else loves the frost? Have you taken pretty pictures too?

What's in my bag?!

So I thought I would show you all the things I keep in my handbag :)

My handbag is from New Look (as are most of my clothes and shoes actually!) and I have had it for a few months now. I love it because it is just the right size to fit everything I need in without it being waaaaaay too big!

And that's all the stuff I carry around with me :) I am actually surprised that it all fits in now that I have laid it all out!

The small bag on the left is from Natural Collection, (although I'm not sure how I obtained it!) and it is a good size to fit my essential/emergency makeup in.
I have the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in shade 40, fawn and it is useful for small foundation touch ups when I am out and about.
Next is the Boots essentials rose lip balm. It says it tints and moisturises lips which is exactly what it does! In this occasion (and it is quite rare that this happens) it does what it says on the tin. It smells nice and keeps my lips moisturised.
I also have the missguided lipsplash which I think was from a magazine, but I liked it a lot so I decided to keep it and put it in my handbag :)
The mascara I have is the Maybelline the Falsies volum' express mascara in black. This one I really like as it extends my lashes nicely and is quite useful to top up my makeup when I am not at home.
On the right, is my No. 17 Pressed Powder, shade delicate beige. It is easy to apply, especially as it has it's own mirror!
I'm not too sure where the lip/eye shadow palette is from as it has no labels or stickers or anything on it (not very helpful!) so your guess it as good as mine on this one! I do like it though, as it has a wide variety of colours to choose from.
Finally, there's my hair grips. They are from Boots and they are useful for when my hair decides to play up and strands go flying in the wind!

On the left, is the Soap & Glory Hand Maid, which is an antibacterial hand cleansing gel. This is essential for keeping your hands clean, especially if you are using public transport or having a picnic :)
I also have a L'Occitane limited edition Hibiscus Flower hand cream which I actually got from a magazine! It comes in handy (handy! get it?! HANDy!) for when my hands get dry during the day.
My cute pack of tissues comes from Accessorize. I found it at the counter and thought it would be ideal for my handbag, which is where it lives!
On the right, is the anatomicals help the paw vitamin rich hand cream (more hand cream, I know!). I got this from New Look and it smells quite nice.

Here is nothing particularly interesting, just a mini notepad from Paperchase which is a good little size for jotting down shopping lists or things I need to remember (I am quite a forgetful person). All the pens are from WHSmiths apart from the white one which I picked up from an open day at the University of Surrey.

On either side are my gloves from Accessorize. I got them last year and they haven't broken or faded, and they keep my hands warm which is good considering that is their primary purpose!
In the middle is my Fat Face hand warmer. These are amazing in winter, especially when we go skiing!

The chewing gum on the left is Wrigley's 5 Flood, berry flavour. It tastes really nice and the flavour lasts a long time.
My purse is from Accessorize and it is a decent size. Unfortunately, it has broken so I have asked Santa for a new one :) It doesn't really have enough slots for my cards and the clasp keeps opening when I have too many coins in there (most likely to be coppers rather than anything of worth!).
On the right is Wrigley's Extra spearmint chewing gum in a really nice pot. It is a good size and the lid stays shut so I don't get chewing gum falling out into my bag!
Finally, at the front are my headphones from Apple. There isn't much I can say about them as the majority of you will have them or at least used them at one point or another :)

So yeah, that is my handbag and everything in it! Hope this was interesting :P

What do you keep in your handbag?

Nail Polishes!

I thought I would share with you, all the nail polishes/varnishes/paints that I own :)

When in Boots or Superdrug, or just any store that sells nail polishes, I find it very difficult to not buy a whole load more! Especially if there is a multi-buy deal, like 3 for 2. In fact it is extremely restraint of me if I leave the store without a bag full of nail polishes, so without further ado, here are my nail polishes :-

My everyday makeup

This is the makeup that I use pretty much everyday (apart from lazy days at home, we all need those!). Aside from a few changes, I will pretty much repurchase these over and over again because I know that they work for me, and maybe also because I am not brave enough to try different things :P

No. 17 Hide Away Concealer Stick, shade medium
I use this to cover up those pesky spots that i get, and sometimes under my eyes. It goes on really easily and blends really well. I have been using this particular concealer for a very long time and I would definitely recommend it :)

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, shade 40 Fawn
I used to use this a while ago but then stopped to use something else (can't remember what this was, sorry) but then more recently I found it amongst my less-used makeup and started using it again. I find it blends really well, stays on for a long time and doesn't go streaky, however, it does go on quite thick so I find myself feeling conscious of looking like I have caked my makeup on!

Maybelline Fit me! concealer, shade 20
This is a fairly recent purchase for me but having used it, I am wondering what I ever did without it! I dab it under my eyes to get rid of dark circles (from those nights when I really should have turned my laptop off earlier). It works really well, blends really well and stays on for quite a long time. The only negative I can think of, is that as far as I am aware (correct me if I am wrong), it only comes in two shades. This was fine for me as luckily, my shade is one of them, however, not so good if yours is not.

No. 17 Pressed Powder, shade delicate beige
I think this is the product I have used for the longest, purely because I like it so much! I use a mahusive brush (shown in the picture) to apply it to my face and the top of my neck. It gives good coverage and is just a good little layer to finish off my makeup. Unfortunately, I find that it doesn't stay on particularly long so I often have to reapply later.

No.17 Instant Glow bronzing powder, shade medium bronze
This is another recent purchase, and again, am wondering what I was doing without it. It adds a bit more colouring to my fave and highlights my cheek bones which I love. I just lightly dab it onto my face using a powder brush (shown in the picture). For nights out or days where I need to dress up more, I simply dab a bit extra on. It stays on for a good amount of time and I have a feeling that the product will last a long time.

No.17 All About Nude, summer palette
Sometimes I don't bother with eye shadow but more often than not, I like to add a bit more colour to my eyes. The colour I use most is the gold one (top right) and vary the amount I put on. Again, I add more if I am dressing up. I find that these ones stay on really well and add just the right amount of colour to make my eyes stand out (which isn't difficult considering they are quite big!).

Max Factor Kohl Pencil, shade 20 Black
This pencil is my favourite as it is so easy to use. I have tried using liquid eyeliner but often find that most of it ends up in my eyes, I have also given gel liner a go but find it tricky to get the line just how I like it (I am a bit of a perfectionist and maybe a bit OCD!) so I often just return to using my trusty pencil :) I find that these pencils last yonks! Seriously, I have had this particular pencil for ages! It is so easy to use and they stay on pretty much all day.

Maybelline the Falsies volum' express mascara, black
I have tried a few different mascaras but have found only subtle differences between them (apart from waterproof ones, but that difference is obvious). I tend to notice that they all improve with age but this one in particular extends my lashes to a good length and curl them upwards nicely, despite the stubbornness of my lashes. It lasts a decent amount of time both on my lashes and in the tube, and for some reason, find myself returning to this particular mascara.

Have you tried any of these products? What's your view on them?
